2008
  • Nominated for the 4th M. R. Pai Memorial Award in 2007 for the ‘splendid work done by you and your organization in educating the public on competition and regulation over the years. You are one of the foremost crusaders for consumers and we take this opportunity to wish you strength in your endeavours’. The award, which carries a citation and a cheque of Rs.51,000, will be given at Mumbai on Tuesday 8th April, 2008 at the hands of Ms Shyamala Gopinath, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India.

2007

  • Spoke at the IFC luncheon on the evolution of competition scenario – from the MRTPA to the Competition Amendment Act, 2007 – in India, covering the phases of trials and tribulations, the pressing needs and the interventions, along with some valuable recommendations for a better regulatory regime in the country.

  • Presented the case for an effective competition policy in countries in order to boost the global competition policy agenda in an interview at the Consumers International World Congress, 2007 in Sydney.

  • As the Luncheon Speaker at the Australia India Business Council (AIBC) 2nd India Conference 2007, Melbourne, Australia, on May 10, 2007, presented a paper on 'India is flat-A few thoughts'.

  • Invited to be a member of the "Warwick Commission into the Future of the Global Trade Regime”, hosted at the Centre for the Study of Globalisation and Regionalisation at the University of Warwick, UK, presented a Note on 'Threats/Obstacles and Possible Solutions' in the first meeting of the body.

  • Amidst 1500 activists, legal scholars who participated in the seven-day "National Conference on Human Rights, Social Movements, and the Law" held during December 25-31, 2000, at Panchgani, India, Pradeep S Mehta presented a paper ‘Trade and … Where Do We Go?’
